The Story

This grand tour begins in Rome and continues through Florence, Geneva, La Chaux-de-Fonds, and culminates in Paris. Drawing on recent historical literature research, this journey traces the classical principles that Le Corbusier absorbed in Rome and Florence, as well as his subsequent assimilation and refinement of these ideas. Additionally, this journey visits the two houses designed by Le Corbusier for his parents, which showcase his emotional expression and the unique character and form of his design. Finally, this journey arrives in Paris via La Chapelle de Ronchamp to observe how Le Corbusier transformed purism into modern architecture in the 1920s.
