Between Humble and Bustle: Tracing Danish Modern Architecture

Denmark

The Story

"Fairy tale", "democracy", "environmentalism", "happiness"... these words are often used to capture the essence of Denmark, yet it is "humble" that most aptly characterizes Danish modernist design.

The meticulously curated tour of Danish modern and contemporary architecture traces the evolution of Danish design through 24 projects spanning from Copenhagen to Aarhus. From the last century's P.V. Jensen-Klint, who designed the Grundtvig Church, to the current pioneering generation of Danish architects represented by BIG, a century of complex interplay and influence will all be showcased on this journey.
