Where Gods and Humans Reside: The Art of Greek Architecture

Greece

The Story

Greece is the mountain where the Olympian gods reside. It is the sea from which the heroes of the Iliad embarked. This is the Classic of Mountains and Seas, painted in shades of green and blue, showcasing the ingenuity and mythology of ancient and modern architects.

The architectural excursion of Greece visits 14 architectural projects and complexes that are part of Greece's National Treasures. It traces the origins of western architecture, exploring spatial prototypes such as temples, theaters, and arenas. It also allows for an experience of Greek classical and Byzantine architecture, as reflected in epics, myths, and religious stories. Starting in Athens, the journey extends through the Peloponnesian Peninsula, exploring the civilization of twelve world cultural heritage sites, and revisiting the glory days of humanity's childhood.
